DMEGC Germany GmbH joins REIA, the Global Rare Earth Industry Association

DMEGC Germany GmbH is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Hengdian Group DMEGC Magnetics Co., Ltd. (SHE: 002056) headquartered in Hengdian, China and established in 1980.
DMEGC Germany, based in Offenbach am Main, Germany, since 2008, is the European sales, technical and logistics support office of the DMEGC Group which counts 17000 employees.
and is the world’s largest magnetic material manufacturer covering the full set of magnetic portfolios including ferrite magnets, NdFeB magnets, bonded magnets, and soft magnetic materials. DMEGC is also well-known for its solar modules & cells, lithium-ion batteries & cells and electronic components.
DMEGC is represented worldwide with its own sales & technical support offices and production facilities in India for haptic devices, and in Vietnam for permanent magnets. The facility in Vietnam is under construction and will start production in Q4, 2023.
DMEGC knows how important the environmental protection for the future generation is. 20 years ago, we started to switch from coal to gas as the major resource to fuel our hundreds of kilns, which is the most energy-consuming process of magnetic material manufacturing. We have invested heavily in upgrading all the motors used in various divisions. The new factory plans to use 50% green electricity in 2024 and aims for 100% green electricity from 2025. As solar energy is one of the best choices for climate protection in addition to energy saving, DMEGC has been producing solar cells and modules since 2009 and has its own 20MW solar park with solar panels installed in its facilities.
Joe Ying, Managing Director of DMEGC Germany commented: “We are pleased to join REIA and we would like to thank REIA for giving us the opportunity to become a member of this great organization and community which enables us to build a sustainable future together. The importance and demand for magnets are increasing rapidly due to global changes. We are willing to share our magnet manufacturing knowledge with the REIA community and encourage new solutions for outsourcing of the magnet supply chain and production outside of China”.
Dr Badrinath Veluri, President of REIA, said: “We are pleased to welcome DMEGC Germany to our network of members. DMEGC is a huge company which has invested massively to limit its carbon footprint, so close to REIA’s heart. We look forward to the opening of their permanent magnet production facility in Vietnam this year. Welcome to Joe Ying and his team!”
About REIA a non-profit organization, is the only global association advocating the rare earth element (REE) Industry. Founded in 2019 and developing rapidly, REIA now counts around 50 members from around the world, representing key industry stakeholders throughout the whole rare earth value chain as well as policy makers, research institutes and academics. Our core mission is to promote and support a sustainable, responsible, collaborative and transparent REE value chain and the use of rare earths in appropriate applications. To that effect, we are currently developing a framework and guidelines to help standardize ESG reporting accepted by all stakeholders, both upstream and downstream. We provide our members with a platform where they can network and benchmark; make their voice heard by policy makers, regulators and key stakeholders; find potential partners; access and share data, information and best practices; get visibility and highlight their engagement towards a more sustainable supply chain.
