REIA Webinar on Rare Earth Elements in Sustainable Circular Economy
DATE : January 10 - 11, 2020
LOCATION : Online
Adoption of sustainability and transparency is a very weak link in REE value chain. As a mission of REIA enabling these important and valuable factors not only for primary resources but also to secondary routes the webinar is designed to bring in more insights of how the principles of circular economy can be stitched to REE materials. REIA members are developing the much cleaner and far higher grade ‘primary’ style deposits as well as developing sustainable solutions for recycling. With an increased focus on the circular economy, recycling will become more important for those sectors using REEs, and therefore evaluating closed-loop REE recycling in greater detail would be advantageous. We are also committed to minimize any longer-term impacts on the environment, proving that responsible mining is not that hard to achieve, thereby providing the end user with an assurance that the magnets found in their EV’s and turbines meet their ethical expectations .
